Description
I'm totally hooked on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games right now, but felt like taking a break from everything I've been up to lately to listen to some techno music and draw. This is the moment in Clear Sky when Scar meets Strelok in the Red Forest. Scar is supposed to be wearing the suit with the plexiglass face shield, so I fixed the head lamp to the face guard instead of giving it an elastic band.
I don't know if I want to spend the time finishing this, but I may, as I do need to get in some practice again with color pencils since I haven't drawn or colored in a very long time. Just for this picture, I gave it a little pencil shading. I was thinking of inking it at first since I played this part of the game when it was night, which made the scene feel memorable, even if fighting the mutants in the woods later with almost no light was an awful experience. If you haven't played Clear Sky yet, I suggest waiting for daylight before fixing the cooling system with the raiding party in zombie town, because the night vision doesn't work so good, and don't forget to bring over a thousand rounds of ammunition because it's a crowded path ahead of you. I have an inking brush pen from Pentel that uses a rich black ink for comic book artwork that I ought to use more, which was the original plan. It was made in Japan and has reloadable ink vials, which some people like to use for smooth surface comic book paper, so it's great for dark scenes. Maybe I'll use it a little for this later.
Update: Weeks later, I finally finished the drawing, even if I gave Scar a left handed rifle by accident but chose to ink it instead of drawing it all over again.
