Hi guys! This is my new artwork conceptual, Yurei, the Astral Land of Yokai.
Yūrei (幽霊) would be the Japanese analogue of the western "ghost".幽 (yū) means "deep, silent, dark", or in this case, "from the world of the dead".霊 (king) means spirit.
This date became “Ghost Day”, in honor of the first staging of the Kabuki play “Tōkaido Yotsuya Kaidan”, which took place on July 26, 1825 (equivalent to September 8 in the Gregorian calendar).
