Sykes.. Drawn awhile back because he stopped taking the shit he was being dished out in the comic, so.. it was kinda done to celebrate that? o.O; Kinda reflects the mood I'm in now, actually, heh....This turned out so much better than I had ever originally hoped

The canvas-like textures and the blend of black, grey, and red in the background tickles me juuuust right. And the nice fur texturing on his ... well... fur is great too. I do belive I've told you before I love how you do fur texturing.

Gorgeous coloring.. and as always, I love your style. Actually I was trying to draw one of your characters last night.. arg.. what was her name.. started with a R I think. Brown kinda doggish lookin character with bright red hair, green eyes, and a spotty tush? I love her. I WILL DRAW HER. o@; But last night I did nothing but screw up. I must succeed! *throws hugs*

I'm extremely impressed by the...cleanness of it all, it's very professional. I think the best part of the picture, though, is the awesome light imagery, in both back and foregrounds, and how you've taken that lighting into account on his body. I also love that tapestry-looking background, it looks almost real, which is extremely cool
One thing I might suggest: near the lower, rightmost side of his abdomen, where you've detailed the fur in the outline of it, it seems to kind of just cut off, and looks not quite as real or detailed as the rest of the picture. But that's a tricky spot in any case, and I may be wrong. Still a very cool picture. And he has an eyepatch. You don't mess with dudes with eyepatches.

Coloring... yummy. The way you placed the character, sort of 'stepping out of the shadows' like this, gives a real dynamics to the image (maybe he's not moving, but he looks like he's doing it... heh). The background, also, gives me the feeling of a cloth - a dirty one, but a cloth all the same, maybe accentuating, also, this feeling of 'movement'.

This is a nice piece. The rendering defines the form and the single light source with the darkness pushes your mood (i know what it feels like but just can't put a word to it which isn't too general) the Bg textures fit it damn well to nice stuff.
