“Will this mean the police, ma’am?” Davey muttered sadly.

“I am afraid so, my lad” the lady detective replied. “But AFTER I have tied you up. We don’t want you running off now, do we? I know you have a record, but you really should have thought of that BEFORE you bit the hand that feeds you!”
