I found you because you posted photos to a thread on the forum with examples of your photography. Your work really stood out so I checked out what you had to offer 
As for my small pageviews- I post, comment, favorite but I am not involved very much at present with the forums/chat/or groups so I think that really lowers your visibility to the DA community. So I am mainly active was a little less active here and there but I haven't taken a hiatus for any length of time.

how long have you been at it?

I have been doing photography itself for a while... did an independent study in my senior year of High School, took a class in college for bw... I ended up in the dark room for hours- I really miss that haha. I would get in at 2 in the afternoon and get kicked out when they had to close the lab at midnight. Though the same went for ceramics.. got in at 2 in the afternoon and they kick you out at 2 in the morning - that is unless you are chummy with security and then you could practically sleep there.
Well anyways I really started taking my photography more seriously in November of 2007- purchased a D40 nikon. Started really doing portraits/fashion in April and was loving what I was doing so I bought a D300 in July of last year and then started renting a studio in August. I am sorta a jumper- just get into it without first thinking this might not work or that something could go terribly off haha.

hah, when answers to questions like that are brief, theyre usually generic. i love hearing about how people get into art.
i had been drawing seriously (taking lessons, that is) since i was six, still do. art was sort of the only thing i was ever good at. didnt know exactly what i wanted to do with it until high school when my art teacher (really cool guy, great photographer) basically told me to take bw photo to kill time. he thought that i had potential and encouraged me to continue. went to college majoring in photography, did a lot of landscapes (is it just me or does it seem like most photographers start out with landscapes?), hated taking pictures of people. took a studio class and instantly changed my mind. ive since graduated and right now im just struggling to get myself to point where i can do what i want with my profession. im sort of the same way you are, in that i just get into things without thinking if itll work or not. after graduating it was actually working out really well, now its not. but itll bounce back. other than music (another lucrative career path, hah) i dont know what else id be doing.
so do you make a living completely off photography or is it something you do on the side?

My pleasure- you have wonderful watercolors. That is one medium I haven't delved to far into. The take backs that you can do in acrylic and oil aren't available in watercolor and as a result I run quickly away haha
