does a Shinigami count as being as powerful as Death because even Dream succumbs to Death after that I got nothin for Shonen

Dream ALLOWED himself to be killed. And why even have Light and Ryuk? Bit of a stretch that he'd just be kind enough to tell Light everyone's names. But I don't know if the Death Note would effect non humans and aspect beings. And with the power and speed on DC's side, Light Better be FAR away, cause there are plenty of people on DC's side that could kill him before his pen reaches the paper, or the words leave Ryuk's lips. Of course, being far away renders Light useless then too, unless Ryuk would go back and forth for his good buddy. And if Ryuk took the Death Note and used if for himself, I'm sure Zatana could banish him somewhere quick or Dream do something even worse.
