Pretty cool. I loved the time lapses of them animating.

Also awesome. I've seen the panel with "yes, we stole Jonn's cookies", but I had never found the issue it came from. I'm mildly surprised Ostrander was behind this.

I didn't know you were into Steampunk!! I do it for cons every chance I get! (and sometimes I just walk the streets of Chicago in such a fashion...)

I've dabbled, and I like it. My headset that matched this case broke, and my new set doesn't match so I haven't used this in a while. But it was fun to use while it lasted.
I'm more into superhero costumes in public, myself. I've rented movies and was in my Senior Panoramic picture as Aquaman, and I've gotten groceries as the Riddler (with my sister as Poison Ivy).

I do not know "Zach Braff," either. Why should he die? {Chances are that I would agree with you though...}

Zach Braff is the star of Scrubs (J.D.), a show that despite going downhill incredibly fast (entirely unfunny and unoriginal now, and has been recycling its own plotlines for the second half of its duration) managed to not just last 8 seasons now but also was chosen by the evil company ABC to replace the brilliant but unfairly cancelled Pushing Daisies (the most original and nicest show currently on television.) On top of this whole Scrubs vs. Pushing Daisies thing, Mr. Braff is way too popular for being way too unfunny (at least in my opinion.)

I have seen clips of "Pushing Daisies," & I could easily understand why it was cancelled...
My Guess {Emphasis *Guess*}: Most people could not understand what they were saying, even though I personally can not recall anything other than perfect {& exemplary} English. It seemed as if they were trying to expand the vocabulary of the average american, but average americans {at least, the ones that I have had the misfortune of meeting} have no interest in such things. Most of them would be as leif that words that they do not understand should simply evanesce out of existence, when they could just ask what they mean, & actually learn something. These are the kind of people that cause stereotypes, & are quite undesirable in My reality.

While that is very true, and while I am always more than eager to place the blame of a loss of something truly artistic at the feet of the ignorant philistines that make up the populace of the American viewing audience, I also strongly believe in giving blame where blame is due. ABC ran a shamefully lax advertising campaign for the show, and appeared to be doing everything they could to sabotage it and legitimize dropping it. Then they replaced it with Scrubs, which I already harbored a strong distaste for, but its replacement of my recently cancelled favorite show brings me great ire. Ire which I place (perhaps unfairly) at the feet of Zach Braff.

My father really liked "Pushing Daisies" as well.
Another thing I had noticed in America, was how many will eagerly blame the scapegoat of any situation, regardless of facts. Like the Iraq thing you americans have going on now... Yes, very few still support it at present, but in the beginning, almost everyone was "all for it."
I was also reminded of the man who killed John Wayne... Even though it only happened in a movie, people hated not just the character, but the actor as well. This may not have much to do with what you have said, but it is an example of
{I'm sorry... I got distracted & have forgotten what I was about to type. I'll let you know if I remember. I want to think it had something to do with the blaming of unattractive actors over "ridiculous" things, but I'm almost sure that wasn't it.}

Just for the record, the "you americans" you are referring to do not include me. I am affiliated with no govornment or nationality in any way other than geography and abiding by the laws set out for me. I was never for any war, and I don't get involved in the politics thereof now.
And Pushing Daisies was awesome. It was a happy show, and there hasn't been anything close to a real happy show on television since older Bugs Bunny cartoons.

About set laws... Did you know that in Poland you need a license just to own a Baseball Bat? They don't play baseball over there, so they are just considered weapons. I think it was Poland, anyway.
I am trying to think of other happy shows, but I am currently drawing a blank...

MilleniumRodan In reply to Gadgetsmith [2009-05-27 20:34:05 +0000 UTC]
That's because there aren't really any other happy shows out there now. ABC just cancelled the only one; they exterminated the endangered species! Shows right now are either Reality TV, Sitcoms, or Dramas. Reality TV is unscripted and has no story, so it cant be considered happy or unhappy; even sitcoms, while comedic in nature, seem to be more and more obsessed with unhappy people. Think Arrested Developement. As hilarious as it is, the characters are all hateable. And 30 Rock, even with actually likable characters, don't end that happily. That leaves Dramas, and they have basically unanimously become composed entirely of lengthy shots of attractive people looking mopey, with some form of a storyline that gives them reason to do so. But when something came along that dared to be different, it gets cancelled.

Any thoughts about "Reaper" or "Two & a Half Men?"
Here are Mine:
Charlie Always seems to be happy {Probably the Alcohol}, & Alan tries to be happy in spite of all the negativity aimed his direction. That leaves Jake... Jake is just too damned stupid to get depressed...
I saw the first {only} season of "Pushing Daisies" in a store the other day. Thought about getting it, but couldn't at the time.

I tried to watch Two and a Half Men, but it just got too far away from my humor. And I can't say I really liked any of the characters, but that's just me. As for Reaper, I actually haven't seen any of it, but it did look pretty funny. I could've sworn it got cancelled, though.

It might get cancelled after this season... I just saw a new episode on the 19... I hope it doesn't. The topic of what shows were to be cancelled was on MSN.com about two weeks ago, & they were unsure about Reaper.

Hell Yeah!
Okay, here's the whole story. I heard them announce it on the speakers that the race was going. I didn't know it was a pageant, I just thought it was one of those "name on a ballot" things, and I planned to turn it into a political campaign. Turns out I need a talent. However, I'm still going to try to run on the "People who hate school" platform, and hopefully we can get somewhere. I think I'll do a "Why School Sucks" speech for a talent.

Well, I was thinking tell them and practice in front of them something vastly different than what I have planned to actually do.
Or maybe I might just do something legitimate. I can practice a magic trick from Youtube, I'm sure, or maybe write and read an essay on something. Air guitar would be fun, but I've seen when people take that too seriously, and it no longer looks wierd and funny, it just looks dumb. Seriously, there's a whole documentary movie about an air guitar contest (didn;t see it, it's rated R), and those poeple are not the fun kind of nerds. Any other suggestions?

Hmm, a skit perhaps? Im not too sure what you could do since its only a one person talent. Maybe you could sing a song. The essay thing is a good idea as long as it is intresting enough to caputer everyones attention. Maybe air guitar while reading an essay?
