He uses Toon Boom but remember it's not really the program although it helps. What's important is the person behind the animation program, the animator!

Saw your sketchbook on YouTube through your teachers channel. You are very very good. Wish I was at the level you're at. Can't wait to get there. Oh there is one thing. How do you get your lines so loose. I think my drawings tend to have a harsher quality to them but I love Avatar the last airbender and saw what your teacher did for your class. Any advice?

Yo, I'm not Spencer, but I figured I'd give you what advice I can on flowiness.
I see that you kind of 'pet' in your lines. You go back over your lines several times to make a line. That tends to make your drawings more rigid. Try to do that less, and instead make a bunch of sweeping movements until you get the line you want. I added a thumbnail below to one of my deviations that may help illustrate my point. If you take a look at the leg hanging down, you can see what I'm talking about. There are some lines that look right, and some lines that don't. Flow is about selecting which lines to darken.
I'm not nearly as good as Spencer, but I'm offering what advice I can.

I remember when I was at a point where I had so many questions about art. I like to share the answers I found, and it's pretty awesome when someone actually listens. I think it's important to share information as artists. After all, we kind of tend to feed off each others' imaginations and become inspired by them. And when I have the chance to nurture someone's creativity, I take it head-on.

You work reminds me of Matisse... he did a painting, called "Notre Dame Sunrise" kinda similar. Cool stuff here with color.
